Both sell to companies, and both are gated by a platform the company already pays for. The gap between them is about 27 times. Anyone reasoning about what an enterprise app can charge should notice that the answer depends far more on which platform it sits on than on what it does.

1,222 apps, 20.2 percent, are managed packages. 1,704 paid plans offer a free trial, with a median of 30 days.
3,117 apps, 51.4 percent, have no reviews at all. The median app that has any has very few, which is why the median rating across the 2,946 rated apps is a perfect 5.0. Treat a five star AppExchange rating as almost no information.
3,549 distinct publishers list here. Salesforce Labs, Salesforce's own free app group, publishes 571 of the 6,063.
On 2026-09-08 we read Salesforce's public sitemap, which lists 6,066 app listings and 4,491 consulting listings, and fetched each app listing page. Every listing embeds a JSON block carrying its pricing model, its plans with price, unit, billing frequency and trial length, its payment handler, and its review summary. 6,063 of the 6,066 parsed successfully.
